How many players are playing on a team? 5 is the minimum to sign up. I've seen teams aquire up to 10 players! But that would mean a whole lotta bench warming :-( ... Note that while you are playing in a match, you can actually play a match with 3 persons, all though you'd want 4 persons. This is because if you play a match with only 3, then one of the doubles games must be played with only one person, as you may not play more then one game in a round per our Bylaws. As also one of the singles games in each round must be forfeited. A round would be the 2 doubles games or the 4 singles games. So, to cut to the chase, if all 4 members will always be there (ALWAYS!) 4 is the perfect number. But we want you to have a backup! So we make a full team to have a minimum of 5 players.

Where does my money go? From the web site to catered special events, picnics, awards ceremonies, dart shoots, they all involve the SFDA paying for items like trophys, food, extra dart board setups for the large events. And we also send people to compete in A.D.O. sponsored dart shoots. Your money is stretched as far as we can stretch it!

Do all players play all games? No. As per the SFDA Bylaws, a player may only participate in 1 game per round. Otherwise you could have a team of one or two really good players and trounce the competition. The most games a single player will play (with 4 persons showing up for a match), would be Team game, 2 doubles games, and 2 singles games. For a total of five. We play 13 games total (B, C & D Leagues) and 15 total games (A League), with 1 point awarded for each game win. A match score of 13 to 0 would be the best a team could do in a particular evening. (Or 15-0 in A League)

What is a highlight (highlight pts)? First of all, highlights are extra points that directly bring your ranking up by the number of points you accumulate, in addition to the regular games you play, head to head. A highlight in Cricket would be 5 or 6 bulls or a C9 (9 marks that count), C8 or C7. In 01 games a highlight is 100+ getting on in a 301 game DiDo, or 100+ getting out. Also a 120 - 180 thrown accounts for points, the higher you get the more points you accumulate. Its 120-139 = 1 point, 140-170 = 2 points, and 171-180 = 3 points, C9 = 4 points, C8 = 2 points, C7 = 1 point, 6 bulls = 4 points, 5 bulls = 3 points. For On/Out, 100-120 = 2 points, 130-160 = 4 points, 161-170 = 6 points.

How do I advance in the rankings? After playing a total of 20 games, which makes it official, your issued a ranking. To bring your ranking higher you must play against the players that are above you and beat them. Yes it's that easy.. oh and don't lose to the players that are below you. I guess that means just win! The highlight points will also help push your numbers up! Personally, I would target a person one or two ranks above myself and make it a point to concentrate my hardest whenever I played him/her.

How do teams get into the payoffs? It is the top 4 ranked teams that go to to the playoffs after the end of each season, with 1st place playing 4th place and 2nd place playing 3rd place. The team with the most wins during season play, against the team they are playing, gets home bar advantage. In the event of a tie, there is a playoff game, to choose either a home bar advantage or neutral bar. The first to attain 7 games wins. Period. There are no more games played after any team wins 7 games. So it could be a 7 - 0 night .... hopefully not for your team!

How do the playoffs work? After the "1st" round of playoffs, the 2 teams that won the 2 matches will play each other at a neutral bar determined by the competition secretary. The teams will be notified who and where they are playing. When there were 2 leagues in each division, A1 + A2, B1 + B2, C1 + C2 and even D1 + D2, the winner of C1 would play the winner of C2 and so on, for the grand final Trophy and Bragging Rights!
